Refund & Cancellation Policy

Rules for withdrawal of admission, cancellation and refund of fees at Sailee Degree College.

1. Purpose

This policy explains when and how fees paid to Sailee Degree College may be refunded, and how an admission can be cancelled or withdrawn. It applies to Junior College (FYJC/SYJC – Science & Commerce) and Degree College programmes.

2. Cancellation of Admission by the Student

• A student who wishes to cancel or withdraw admission must submit a written application, signed by the student and parent/guardian, to the College Office along with the original fee receipt and ID card.
• Cancellation is effective only from the date the application is received and acknowledged by the College Office. Verbal or phone requests are not accepted.
• Original documents submitted at the time of admission will be returned after cancellation is processed and all dues are cleared.

3. Refund Rules

Refunds are processed in accordance with University of Mumbai and Maharashtra Government guidelines. In general:

• Before the start of the academic year / classes: the fees paid are refunded after deducting a processing charge, as decided by the College.
• After classes have commenced: a refund, if any, is made only as permitted by the applicable University or Government rules and College policy, with deductions for the period attended.
• University-related fees (such as eligibility, enrolment, examination and other fees already paid to the University or Government) are not refundable once remitted.
• Caution deposit (where applicable) is refunded on application after clearance of library, laboratory and other dues.
• Admission fee, registration/form fee and processing charges are non-refundable once the admission has been confirmed.

Where a student is admitted through the FYJC CAP process and cancels through the official process, refund is governed by the CAP rules and the official notifications.

4. Cancellation by the College

If the College cancels a programme, or a student’s admission is cancelled because the College cannot offer the seat (for example, due to a University or Government order), the fees paid will be refunded in full, except for amounts already remitted to the University or Government which will be handled as per their rules.

If admission is cancelled by the College due to false information, missing documents or disciplinary reasons, fees are not refundable.

5. How to Request a Refund

1. Submit the written cancellation and refund application at the College Office.
2. Attach the original fee receipt, College ID card, and a copy of the student’s bank account details (student or parent/guardian).
3. The College verifies the request and dues.
4. Eligible refunds are processed within 15–30 working days of approval and are paid by bank transfer or cheque in the name of the student/parent who paid the fees.

6. Online Payment Failures

If money is debited from your account but the payment is not shown as received by the College, please share the transaction reference number, date and a screenshot with the College Office at the email or phone below. Amounts debited by mistake or paid twice are refunded to the original payment method within 7–10 working days after verification, or as per the bank’s timelines.

7. Events, Workshops & Tours

Where a fee is charged for an educational tour, workshop or event, it is non-refundable once bookings or payments have been made to third parties. If the College cancels the activity, the amount paid will be refunded.

8. Changes to This Policy

The College may change this policy to comply with University or Government directions. The version on this page at the time of payment applies.
